Information Literacy Community of Practice at Staffordshire University (ILCoPSU) workshop 19th July 2006.

 

Following the great success of Information Literacy: Recognising the Need Conference held at Staffordshire University on the 17th of May we are pleased to announce the first of  a series of workshops which aim to share good practice and discuss new ideas in IL teaching and learning within the university sector.

 

This will be held at the Ashley Centre for Professional Management (Rooms LT114/116), Stoke site.

 

The speakers for the first half-day (1.30pm - 4.30pm) workshop are:

 

Evans Wema: PhD research student at Loughborough University

 

Geoff Walton: Learning and Teaching Fellow at Staffordshire University and PhD research student at Loughborough University.  

 

Evans Wema will be talking about his IL training programme for librarians in Tanzania.

 

Geoff Walton will be discussing his current research centred on delivering information literacy via online collaborative learning and reflective learning.

 

Outline programme

 

1.30 - 2pm Registration and drinks

 

2pm - 2.15pm Introduction and overview of the programme Alison Pope

 

2.15pm - 3.00pm Evans Wema

 

3.00 - 3.30pm Drinks, Danish pastry and networking opportunities

 

3.30pm - 4.15pm Geoff Walton

 

4.15pm - 4.30pm Closing remarks

 

Cost for the half day is £30.

·         purchase order option which enables us to raise an invoice for your institution (must include billing address/contact and what it is for, i.e. conference delegate) 

·         cheque option (made out to Staffordshire University and addressed to admin team etc as before)
