The latest issue of NFER's email update nferdirect, will be available

You may also be interested in knowing that the ConfEd Virtual Staff
College, in collaboration with the DfES,  TEN and local authority
colleagues have developed a  resource pack on the competencies for data
and information professionals.

It  is intended to be a working toolkit to support the work of data
professionals in local authorities and children's services. It can be
used for recruitment, performance management and training and
development purposes. 

The pack provides: 

A set of competencies for data and information professionals  
Person specifications at Strategic, Managerial and Operational levels.
