Applications are invited for the post of Research Assistant to work on a study investigating behavioural and electrophysiological responses to speech sounds and social stimuli in typically developing children and adolescents, and children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders.

The post will be supervised jointly by Prof. Tony Charman (BBSU), Dr. Torsten Baldeweg, Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Unit and Dr. Michelle de Haan (DCNU). The post will involve development of novel and adaptation of existing behavioural and electrophysiological (ERP) paradigms. The post holder will join a group with a wide range of basic and applied studies in the autism field.
 
The successful candidate should have a good degree in psychology, neuroscience or a relevant science (2:1 or 1st class), and some experience of experimental methods. They should have interest and preferably some direct experience of individuals with autism. They should posses the personal qualities necessary to work well collaboratively in a team and to relate well to children and parents.

The appointment will begin on 01 February 2007 and is funded for 12 months in the first instance. The appointment will be on Grade 6 of the UCL salary scales with a starting salary of £22,332 per annum, plus £2,497 London Weighting per annum.
