Sales Consultant-GIS-based Software Products & Services

Local Government Market

Basic Salary to £32,000 plus annual profit share

Stylish London location and minimal time on the road.

'Hard selling is only necessary if the product is inferior and not wanted.  When the product is a high quality solution, then selling is an enjoyable two-way communication process'

My client is an exceptionally profitable, well established player within the GIS solutions market.  Their products are both robust yet innovative and have achieved ‘must have’ status throughout local government.  They have decided to optimise the business opportunity that their market dominance offers through the appointment of an experienced, sales-focused GIS professional to be the keystone member of a dedicated Sales & Marketing team.

We envisage the perfect candidate being a GIS professional with a proven track record of working in local government or from a services company where you have addressed this market through tele-sales, presales support, customer support or consultancy.

It is important that the Sales Consultant has an enthusiasm for GIS and is able to convey that enthusiasm and problem-solving mentality to prospective customers who don’t want to hear jargon, just an answer to their requirement.  If you can demonstrate such a background then my client will train you in their software packages and ensure that you quickly get to know your way round the public sector tendering process.

To succeed in this job you must be industrious, organised and possess a confident, personable style of communication.  Of great importance is confidence in your ability to stand in front of potential customers and be able to keep your ‘thinking head’ on.  If you have this, my client will groom you to be able to deliver polished, effective presentations to any level of customer in a professional manner.  Additionally you should be methodical and organised, able to manage your own day and get the best out of others.

Training on MapInfo technology will also be provided should your background in GIS be on a different vendors platform.

Lastly, you should be a team player who can thrive within a team of technical and admin work colleagues who are ready and willing to provide the level of support and professionalism expected of a top company.

Interested, then please call me, Alan Carnell of Concurrent Appointments on 01582 712976 and talk to me in confidence about your relevance and suitability for this exceptional opportunity.  Or, if you prefer, send me an email telling me the same information and attach a copy of your CV.  My email address is [log in to unmask]  Neither this client nor any of my other clients will be made aware of your details without your prior agreement.
