What does the job involve?

 

The role is quite junior but is permanent.  Responsibilities are centred on providing a first line of support to customers.  Customers usually raise technical queries via e-mail or telephone.  Along with two other people in the support group your job will be to handle the incident and look to resolve the problem as rapidly as possible, involving software development, sales or consultancy personnel, if required.  Untypically, the client anticipates the need to train this person and is willing to make the investment in time and funding that will provide this.  In short, you will receive full training in the client’s software and services enabling you to competently handle the job.

You would not be expected to stay in this role for ever.  Typically the job has been a stepping stone to other areas of the clients business activities, such as software development, training, sales or consultancy.
