GIS Development and Support Officer - 8 Month contract - £neg - Start asap - Thames Valley My client is currently seeking a GIS Development and Support Officer to provide the technical expertise and day to day effort required to develop a corporate GIS. The role will include; Implementation of corporate ArcSDE, Implementation of MasterMap, Maintenance and update of the map base, Development (in conjunction with ESRI consultants) and implementation of ArcIMS for the Intranet and Internet In addition the role will involve acting as GIS project leader on the corporate GIS strategy project team (Programme and Project Management will be provided by external consultants), Support of ArcGIS 9 for existing users, Liaison with the LLPG/Corporate Datasets Officer, Liaison with the I.T. Support Supervisor within Planning & Development Services, Liaison with the Planning Online project manager, Preparation of strategy for the PAI amendment programme in conjunction with the ALO and Provision of advice and guidance to existing GIS users and new users using the Intranet service The ideal candidate will require technical experience of implementing and using ArcSDE in an Oracle environment, Technical experience of supporting ArcGIS 9, Experience of moving from Landline to MasterMap, Knowledge of PAI issues, Technical experience of developing and implementing ArcIMS for the Intranet & Internet.
