GIS Analyst - London - 6 months - Start April/May - Rate £neg My client is currently seeking a GIS Analyst to join their progressive GI unit. Purpose of the Job: 1. To develop and maintain web based GIS applications on the Intranet and Internet 2. To develop and implement service-specific GIS solutions 3. To administer, support and develop the Council's GIS Technical Architecture. To fulfil the role candidates would require knowledge of the following; - Detailed knowledge of the use and application of GIS, - Detailed knowledge of customising desktop and web based GIS applications and integrating them with third party systems, - Detailed knowledge of relational databases systems such as SQL or Oracle and data extraction techniques, - Knowledge of the National Land and Property Gazetteer and its associated BS7666, - Knowledge of and familiarity with ESRI GIS applications including ArcSDE and ArcIMS The ideal candidate will possess the following skills; - Excellent relational database and ArcSDE skills for loading and managing corporate datasets - Excellent ArcGIS skills for capturing, maintaining, processing and analysing geographic information - Excellent Microsoft Office, and database skills - Familiar with software programming tools such as: AML, Avenue, ArcIMS, ArcObjects, Visual Basic (VB) and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), C, C++, SQL Server, ActiveX.
