Strategic Commissioning Project Support Officer
Full Time: Scale point 29 £23,175
Temporary contract- fixed term until end of July 2007
MLA South East is looking for a highly motivated and creative individual
with excellent organisational skills to join the Access and Learning team
for a 12 month period to work on the second year of a national education
programme. The Strategic Commissioning programme is jointly funded
by the Department for Education and Skills and the Department for
Culture, Media and Sport through the Museum, Libraries and Archives
Council.
The Strategic Commissioning Project Support Officer will assist the
Creative and Cultural Entitlement Adviser and steering group with the
implementation and monitoring of a teacher/museum professional placement
programme, pilot models of cultural entitlement and further in-depth
museum education developmental activity. S/he will contribute to
the successful South East wide advocacy campaign to the 19 Local
Education Authorities (LEAs).

The post is likely to suit someone who is committed to cultural learning,
has experience of partnership work and a successful track record of
project development.
The postholder is likely to be based at MLA South East’s headquarters
in Winchester, but by agreement it may be possible to work elsewhere in
the South East. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head
of Access and Learning and the Creative and Cultural Entitlement Adviser.
S/he must be willing to travel around this large and complex
region.
