The
Learning Department is responsible for engaging new and existing audiences with
the historic environment through education, community and publishing
programmes. We welcome more than
half a million educational visits to our properties every year, and engage a
further 2 million learners of all ages through outreach, events such as the
festival of history and publications.

We
are now seeking an
Education Volunteers Manager to develop and launch a volunteering programme
based at English Heritage’s properties.
The volunteers will help to deliver our on-site education sessions -
including workshops and guided tours - for schools and families. As Education
Volunteers Manager, you will be responsible for implementing policy and
developing guidelines and a training programme for our volunteers, as well as
liaising with education and site staff across the country to ensure its
successful delivery.
A highly motivated self-starter with
drive and enthusiasm, you will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in
delivering educational volunteering programmes, preferably gained within
heritage or museums. A sound
knowledge of initiatives in the sector will be essential, together with
experience of managing volunteers. A professional qualification in volunteer
management or related discipline would be an advantage.
