An excellent suggestion – thank you very much.
I am getting feed back from various sources. ‘Documentation’ seems to be regarded as rather limiting compared to the more inclusive and open ‘Information Standard’. Any comments to this?
Candidate names:
`MIDAS: The Documentation Standard for the UK Historic Environment'
‘MIDAS Heritage: The UK Historic Environment Documentation / Information Standard’
Best wishes,
Tanja

Hi Tanja and MIDAS team
Two immediate responses:
In a straight choice between `Documentation' and `Information' I'd go with the former for MIDAS - it's a closer description.
And my first impulse is to slightly alter and swap the order of the phrase, why not: `MIDAS: The Documentation Standard for the UK Historic Environment' ? It's what it is....
all best wishes
Isabel

Subject: [FISH] MIDAS Heritage logoDear FISH member,
The MIDAS Heritage project needs to develop a logo for promotional purposes in advance of publication of the online manual in 2007. MIDAS Heritage will be a data standards manual for recording historic environment information. Before we proceed with a logo specification, we would like to know your views on the strap line that will go with 'MIDAS Heritage'. We think 'MIDAS Heritage: the UK Historic Environment Documentation Standard' is both clear and descriptive. The other alternative is 'MIDAS Heritage: the UK Historic Environment Information Standard'.
A ‘Documentation’ or ‘Information’ Standard - please let us know by 5th June which one you would prefer, or suggest an alternative.
Thank you very much for your help.
Kind regards,
Tanja
