and my own cynical idealism prompts a more jaundiced response:  if
the content/substance of the expressions of  grass-roots ideas and
ideologies on the web is itself  far from encouraging, then why suppose
changing the super-structure that is the film industry would in any
way change the infra-structure?   . . .    a more "democratic" system of film
production would likely support the very ideas whose expression adam
seems to find far from unproblematic . . .
