There's a chapter devoted to The Trial in James Naremore's The Magic World of Orson Welles (revised edition, 1989)
Francois Truffaut has a few words about it in the foreward of Andre Bazin's book on Welles: "Orson Welles is bigger than life, Kafka is smaller than life" but..."The strong point of The Trial is...the editing."
