BRAVE NEW WORLD 2006
Tenth Manchester Postgraduate Conference in Political Theory


CALL FOR PAPERS

Brave New World 2006, the Tenth Annual Postgraduate Conference organised
under the auspices of the Manchester Centre for Political Theory (MANCEPT),
will take place on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 June 2006.

The plenary speakers are Henry Shue (Cornell University) and Susan Mendus
(University of York).

Papers are invited from any area and school within political theory.
Conference themes include:

Ethics and Politics
European Philosophy and Politics
Theories of Rights
Gender and Politics
History of Political Thought
Theory of International Relations
Theory of Democracy
Political Theory and Jurisprudence

Contributions will be considered for publication in the MANCEPT Working
Papers (a series that includes papers by staff and postgraduate members of
MANCEPT) and/or in Political Perspectives (a postgraduate e-journal edited
by research students at the Department of Politics).

Please send 300-word abstracts by no later than 30 April 2006 to the
conference e-mail address. If you would like to chair a panel, please send a
message to the same address, including your personal details and indicating
which panel you are interested in chairing.
