DCC Workshop on Maintaining Long-term Access to Geospatial Data

We are holding a one-day workshop aimed at an audience who already have some
knowledge about geospatial data use and management. Participants will learn
from and update each other on progress and best practices, through informal
presentations and discussions, about the following areas:

-CITING GEOSPATIAL DATABASES
-GEOSPATIAL DATA FORMATS AND METADATA
-GEOSPATIAL REPOSITORIES AND STORAGE

Speakers will be from organizations and projects including:

- Chris Fleet, Deputy Map Curator, National Library of Scotland & Kimberly
Kowal, Curator of Digital Mapping, The British Library
- The UK Geospatial Repository for Academic Deposit and Extraction (GRADE)
project
- Steve Morris from the US North Carolina Geospatial Archiving Project
(NCGDAP)
- Go-Geo! UK academic geospatial metadata standards and formats
- The University of California and Stanford University US National
Geospatial Digital Archive (NGDA) project
- Sam Pepler, Project Manager, British Atmospheric Data Centre (BADC)

The latest agenda will be maintained on the website. The event will run from
approximately  10:00 until 16:00.  Registration costs are 20.00 pounds per
person that will cover a catered lunch.  Following the workshop, there will
be an optional dinner gathering where individuals pay for their own dinner.
