Has anyone found any commentary from the UKIC on this?

It seems odd that such information is relevant to "public interest". He may
be a deeply flawed and unpleasant individual, but he did not forego his
rights under the law however awful the crime he committed.

Yes, but is it really in the public interest, or just of (prurient) interest
to the public?

Q: At what point does the "public interest" override a person's DP rights?
A: Perhaps, at the point at which you go running around plunging hammers
into the heads of six year old children......

List users may be interested in this ruling on Michael Stone who was found
guilty of a murder in Kent.

It raises the question that at what point does the "public interest"
override a person's DP rights.

(Is there a public interest clause inDP?)
