Can you tell us whose guidance this is? My current view (which may be out
of date) is that we may charge up to £10 for the access to the records.
Method of access is not specified or restricted by the only Regulation I can
find.

I am surprised that people seem to be being charged for merely inspecting
their own records, not getting a copy. I thought this was covered under the
following statement taken from guidance.
"No fee may be charged where the subject access request is to be complied
with other than by supplying a copy of the information in a permanent form -
i.e. by allowing the applicant to inspect the record."

I would be interested in policies on charging for Subject Access Requests,
particularly from Universities, but all are welcome to respond.
Do you charge £10 for all requests?
Do you charge only if it is likely to be a "big job"?
Would you charge for somebody merely to view their own Personnel record?
