Friday night I was after a mortgage indication.  I knew there was a mortgage web site where I could enter details and get a quote "just like that", so I thought I'd found it and entered details.  I was tired.  That's my defence.

Next thing I knew I was being sent emails telling me that my personal data had already been passed to an unexpected and unannounced third party.

Worse, these emails came from "noreply@", an unattended mailbox.

I fond the real details and immediately emailed a total prohibition on contacting me, required removal etc.

At 10:15 on Saturday I was phoned by some random mortgage broker who had "been passed my details as a sales lead".

Neither the company where I registered nor the mortgage broker have notified to the UKIC.

My view is that I have been processed unfairly, and my data has been passed to a third party without my consent, and, through no fault of the mortgage broker (there is one fault) he broke the PECR by contacting me after prohibition.

His fault?  I'm suggesting that he did not have a proper contract to receive data as a Data Controller form the business who took my details.

Of course you all know I am Don Quixote.  I see another windmill.

But there is a serious point to my exposure of my own idiocy:
Have I complained formally to the UKIC re these organisations?  Well yes.  But will anything happen?
