I recall that when I worked in the NHS last year there were some machines 
that were being returned to the manufacturer and there was some software 
that was used to presumably write rubbish on the whole HD before being 
returned.

I have two old HD's which I don't use any more. I have got rid of all the 
other kit so that I can't even use them now. I don't have an Aga.

They are not taking up much space but I don't want to get rid of them 
because they have all my personal correspondence on, job applications etc, 
and I might just as well let Benjy the Binman loose on it.
