I receive mailings from a Conference company about Webinars! From: This list is for those interested in Data Protection issues [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Tim Trent Sent: 23 November 2006 13:59 To: [log in to unmask] Subject: List management things Since we enabled HMTL I have had one peculiarity reported to me, and the helpline is looking at it currently. A Netscape user is receiving both the TEXT version and an "unrendered" HTML version in text format. Naturally he is perplexed. Me, too, so I have asked the helpline to advise us both. Meanwhile I can commend HTML mode to you. Experiment by sending "set * HTML" (for all lists) or "set data-protection HTML" for this list alone to [log in to unmask] It does make emails somewhat more "as the sender intended" (this one mini-glitch notwithstanding), and you can always set it back if you do not like it. All new users will join as HTML users from now on, but any setting may be changed by any user at any time and as often as desired. What we are trying to do now we've actually started to understand how to configure the list is to make it better for all of us, and letting us use all the options available when we submit items to the list. There is even an IRC-like chatroom! (accessed from the web) It's available for anyone to use, but no-one tends to lurk there waiting for people to talk to them. A good use might be to find a topic of interest to a small or wide part of our community, announce a data and time, and have a discussion. I suspect the early ones will be a bit like one handed clapping, but they should grow.
