Sarah We get round this by informing staff that emails are monitored and we can then check for time sent, subject matter and address sent to. We cannot open unopened emails as this is contrary to RIPA (S1) unless we have consent. When staff log on the reminder about the monitoring comes up on the screen. Just one point is to remember the case of Rep France -v- Nokia in Strasburg which allows reasonable about of private use. Hello all..... My first post. Can anyone tell me what the position would be should we wish to monitor the internet usage of an individual who we suspect of conducting personal business using corporate/network? Can we do this? What authority would we be able to rely on? Thanks Sarah Priestley The information in this email is confidential and may be legally privileged. It is intended solely for the addressee.
