I also find that such waste paper is ideal for starting a nice fire in a
Chimnea during summer evenings....Double security!

I shred everything with my name on. I live in a block of flats and the
wheelie bins are now right on the street front.

Our council now collects our material for recycling in rather flimsy
transparent orange sacks which we just put on the garden margin on the day
before the collection.

Anybody can see when I or someone else has put out papers and so I must
shred to avoid any snoopers - I don't want any "enterprising" person doing
their own data warehousing on me.

Also I have found the recycled bags spilling their contents. Even when the
material is shredded I want my private business kept private!

If you don't want others who have no business knowing about your private
life you really should shred.

Nick
