and validate technology solutions for security problems in five target areas.
The call focuses on: Situation awareness; Protection of networked systems;
Protection against terrorism; Crisis management; Interoperability of control and
communications systems.

The workshop
aims to enhance exchange of information and understanding of the needs,
realities and future prospects of portals for information on national and
European research and development activities in IST. Portals allow uniform
access to such information, thus increasing its visibility and usefulness, and
allowing comparability between diverse content. To address current challenges -
such as lack of consistent thematic search possibilities, relevant information
and comparability between information sources - there is also a need for a well
developed taxonomy of the IST domain. The selection and maintenance of such a
taxonomy will also be a theme of the workshop.The workshop is organised in the
framework of the CISTRANA project, a European initiative for the Coordination of
IST Research and National Activities.
