Short Course: Bayesian Analysis, Spatial Statistics and WinBUGS
Lecturers: Nicky Best and Juanjo Abellán, Department
of Epidemiology and Public Health, Imperial College, London
June 19-22, 2006
Girona, Spain
This course is intended to provide an introduction to
Bayesian analysis and MCMC methods, and a fairly detailed tutorial on the use
of WinBUGS, with a focus on applications in spatial statistics.
The emphasis throughout will be on practical examples: software and code to
carry out all the analyses will be provided.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops for the practicals.
Some basic knowledge of Bayesian inference will be an advantage, although it is
not a prerequisite.
The course is a specialisation module on the Master of Geographical Analysis and Spatial Statistics programme at the University of Girona, but a limited number of places on the course are available to external participants.
