Dear bugs User,

I am fitting a zero inflated  poisson distribution  with random effects.

But the model crashes after about 700 iterations. My guess is  that a huge mean is sampled and
the exponentiation crashes.

When I  truncate the  poisson distribution to a big number (say, 300 when the maximum expected mean
was 50), it works fine. but it is hard to make a guess of the maximum expected mean.

In the FAQ of the BUGS, it is mentioned  that big poisson means may crash Bugs.

I was wondering if anybody has any solution to this problem.

Thanks for your help.

With best,

Pulak.
