a reminder that there will be a SENIT based presentation in the BETT fringe on the Friday of Bett at 3.00 pm. Open to anyone Agenda There will be a short general SENIT meeting for people to update on their latest projects and ideas. The major part will a practical based session where people can create some accessible computer based resources that they can use in their schools or places of work. Accessible using Interactive Whiteboards, Touchscreens, Mice and pointing devices, overlay boards, single and multiple switches. Chris Hopkins has said she is willing to demonstrate how to create accessible multimedia using Opus and her latest template. This is a very straight forward procedure. The whole structure of the accessible multimedia is set up; you simply say which music file (in mp3, wav or ogg vorbis formats) you want it to play, add some pictures onto the slides and the the program builds itself plays the music and animates the pictures using your choice of input (1/2 switches/ on/off switching and switch hold -it can also be accessed by the mouse/touchscreen/interactive whiteboard/ interactive plasma screen or overlay board). It also allows you to alter the time for reward at any time during the show. This is the presentation she gave at the Closing the Gap conference in America recently. It would be best if people brought a laptop, some music in mp3 format and some pictures they want to use if they want to create some specific music multimedia. We will supply the latest evaluation copy of Opus presenter or you can download it yourself from the web. We will also have a small supply of music and pictures and a couple of laptops, which you can use if you forget (or cannot bring anything). We can share with you just how easy it is to create your own accessible multimedia for use with switches/ interactive whiteboards etc etc. tailored to your pupils needs and interests. At the end of the session you will have learnt to create accessible multimedia that you can take away and then use on any windows computer (and share with others). 3.00 O'clock on the Friday of the Bett show in the Inclusive Bett fringe in the Hilton hotel. Thanks again to Inclusive technology for allowing us to use one of their seminar rooms. Richard Walter Co-Moderator SENIT
