Attalides work recomposes dialectical moments of space, time and social being, namely geography, history and society thus periodizing dramatic changes in the experience of Cypriot modernity. Expected conference contributions may specialize or historicize accordingly, elaborate conceptually or empirically on uncharted areas submerged in his work, add comparative to local perspectives, or rethink and reevaluate an already existing legacy upon which a new generation of sociologists found solid and reliable premises to punctuate from different angles the contradictory processes and meanings of modernization.
