UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH COLLEGE OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCE SCHOOL OF SOCIAL AND POLITICAL STUDIES LECTURER IN MEDICAL ANTHROPOLOGY (FIXED TERM) THE POST We seek to appoint an outstanding researcher and teacher to a fixed term post to be held in the Social Anthropology subject group of the School of Social and Political Studies. The post is open to candidates with research and teaching experience in Medical Anthropology in any geographical locale, to assist in the further development of the MSc in Medical Anthropology (both the taught MSc and the MSc by Research) and the SAHI working group (Sociology & Anthropology of Health & Illness). As well as responsibilities to Medical Anthropology, the candidate will also have teaching responsibilities on other aspects of social or cultural anthropology in the subject group. The person appointed will also be expected to engage actively in research and administration, and to play a full part in the collegial life of the Social Anthropology subject group and the School of Social and Political Studies. Applicants should have completed, or be close to completing, a doctoral degree. The post will be on the Lecturer AT2A/B scale. The post will be available for 28 months from 1st September 2006 or as soon as possible thereafter.
