Please respond to the email below Data Analyst Role Job specification Job Title: SPSS Services Consultant Responsible to: SPSS Services Manager Location: Dublin 8 SPSS Ireland are looking to employ an experienced Services Consultant to join it’s exciting and expanding Services team. The role will involve the consultant implementing a complete end to end solution utilising their data analysis skills. In this position, the consultant will be involved in a wide range of activities including but not limited to customer segmentation, data mining, marketing analysis, business planning and forecasting. The analyst will help produce powerful Business Intelligence for investigating business problems and presenting solutions to management. Main Roles & Responsibilities: Consulting requirements: Understand data analysis and manipulation techniques Understanding of statistical models Ability to create and interpret statistical models and focus on: Segmentation and clustering analysis Binary data analysis e.g. logistic regression, classification trees, etc. Graphical and visualisation techniques to aid interpretation Data mining techniques and algorithms Ability to translate statistical models for non-technical audience Training: Candidate would be required to conduct training courses in the full range of the SPSS analytical suite of software, survey methodology and statistical analysis. Other Duties: Presales support regarding product demonstrations. Creation of new product ideas. Qualifications: Degree in any of the following disciplines: Statistics/Economics or other highly numerate degree. Masters preferable. Background in research and statistical analysis an asset. Salary: neg. Candidate Requirements: 3+ years experience in a data analysis environment in financial services or telecommunications an advantage. 3+ years experience using a statistical analysis tool, e.g. SPSS, SAS, R in a working environment Experience with a data mining tool e.g. Clementine, Enterprise Miner , etc. an advantage Experience with data mining techniques and models an advantage Experience in training/teaching/giving presentations is an advantage Must be computer literate Working knowledge of RDBMS and database architecture and management preferred Experience in project co-ordination and planning, and the ability to handle a number of projects simultaneously. Flexibility to work on own initiative and as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Strong presentation skills Excellent inter-personal, organisational and time-management skills Enthusiastic, hard-working and willing to learn.
