The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s leading addiction and mental health teaching hospital. As a recognized Pan American Health Organization and World Health Organization Collaborating Centre providing first-class clinical care, research and prevention, we are affiliated with the University of Toronto. The Public Health and Regulatory Policy section, in the Social, Prevention and Health Policy Research (SPHR) department is one of the research foci of CAMH, and has an outstanding tradition of combining scientific rigor with practical relevance, is currently recruiting:


Senior Scientist

You will have a strong background in theory underlying the development, implementation and/or evaluation of evidence-based interventions in the areas of substance abuse and/or the mental health policy. Ideally, you have documented applications of these research findings to impact harm and public health. Solid quantitative and methodological skills (i.e. a degree in Biostatistics or Psychometrics plus publications in experimental and other designs) are required along with a proven track record in publishing and the acquisition of peer-reviewed grants and contracts (including NIH contracts). A background working with international agencies and collaborators is an asset. File # 06096

Independent Scientist

Your demonstrated methodological expertise (either quantitative or qualitative) is combined with experience in the field of evidence-based regulatory policies in the areas of substance abuse and mental health. Those without a policy background but with strong methodological abilities will be considered if they are willing to establish their main line of research in this field. A proven track record in publishing and the acquisition of grants or contracts is required. File # 06097
