URGENT - Last Call

This is a quick last call to any members of this list intending to study on full- or part-time courses in the addictions in the UK.  The Alcohol and Education Research Council offers small studentship grants to UK residents.  BUT time is running out fast.  The following brief details are copied from the AERC website:

Studentship Scheme 2006-2007

The Council offers a limited number of Studentships on a competitive basis to students who are working in the alcohol field and wish to acquire appropriate professional qualifications by following a Taught Course.

Applicants must be ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom and intend to commence their studies at a United Kingdom institution in the 2006/07 academic year.

The amounts and rates of the awards and the conditions that apply are similar to those of the Economic and Social Research Council. Currently these provide for:

Full-time students: A maintenance grant of £9,000 (£11,000 within the City of London or Metropolitan Police Districts). Fees are paid up to an annual maximum of £2,940.

Part-time students: the Council will pay to the institution a flat-rate amount in respect of fees, of up to £2,030 each year.

The deadline for this year's scheme is June 13th 2006.
