The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) distributes public money for teaching and research to universities and colleges in England; this amounted to around £6.5 billion for academic year 2005-06. HEFCE is currently drafting its Disability Equality Scheme. We would like to invite disabled people to help us write our scheme so that we can ensure that HEFCE's policies, practices and procedures reflect your needs and priorities. We would also like to know what disabled people think about HEFCE and what you think our priorities for action in higher education should be. If you would be willing to help us shape our disability equality scheme and ensure that we are working proactively towards disability equality in the higher education sector, please contact Amy Norton by email on [log in to unmask] or by telephone on 0117 931 7316.
