Always measure the Salicylate?

Following on from this, does anyone know of salicylate and paracetamol screens available as POCT? A&E here used to use SureStep but since its withdrawal we have been unable to source an alternative. Thanks. Anne Dawnay

Subject: Always measure the Salicylate?

Interested in views as to whether a salicylate should always be measured in cases of suspected paracetamol overdose. Background to this is a statement from an A&E consultant that salicylate poisoning is so rare these days that it seems the additional measurement is a waste of resource.
