Has increasing technology led to a rise in dishonesty by students?
What can be done about the dishonest use of technology in exams and assessments?
The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) and JISCPAS are hosting a half-day event at the Cavendish Conference Centre in central London on Monday 4 December 2006.
The event will include a presentation from Professor Jean Underwood, of Nottingham Trent University, on her recent report on digital technology and dishonesty in examinations and tests. The report, commissioned by QCA, is a review of current knowledge on the impact of digital technologies on dishonest practice by students in supervised and non-supervised assessments, drawing on research evidence from national and international sources.
Professor Underwood's session will be followed presentations from Isabel Nisbet, Director, Regulation & Standards, QCA and Fiona Duggan, of JISC PAS. Delegates will have the opportunity to ask questions and debate issues following these presentations.
Following the presentations, delegates will have an opportunity to ask questions and advance this debate. Coffee and refreshments will be served from 10am, and the conference will finish with a buffet lunch. There is no charge to attend this event.
