This increase in excavation has been accompanied by a substantial increase in studies relating to environmental archaeology, both in the quantity of work and range of analyses being carried out. It is envisaged that the Cork one-day meeting will provide a much-needed discussion forum for workers carrying out studies in environmental archaeology throughout Ireland, as well as updating the wider archaeological and environmental communities of latest research. It is also hoped that the meeting will attract people from Europe and beyond in order to compare approaches and results. The programme for the Cork 2007 meeting is now full. Offers of posters (to be presented in an A1 format) will, however, be warmly welcomed.
