Dear Allstat, Role: STATISTICIAN / STATISTICAL PROGRAMMER Location: UK South Essential Functions: Performs statistical analysis and study reporting functions. These include writing of statistical analysis plans, advice on study and protocol design, including sample size calculations, review of documents that have an impact on statistics and programming, and statistical consultancy for clients. Performs SAS programming for efficacy and safety tables, listings, figures and analyses. Project manages a number of stand-alone projects within the Biometrics department. Ensures timely and accurate communications at all times with other members of a project team as required. Keeps up to date with current industry practices, regulatory requirements and industry news. Maintains confidentiality of project information. Responsibilities and Additional Duties: Project Teams: Ensures that the project team adheres to ICH-GCP guidelines throughout the study. Ensures that all project administration, study documentation and reporting requirements are met in a timely manner. Maintains professional relationships with clients and monitors satisfaction throughout the project. Advises clients regarding project issues as appropriate. Assists the Project Manager. Client standards and business needs, and maintaining a positive working relationship with the client. Assists in ensuring effective project planning and implementation by Project Managers. Brings unresolved deviations to the attention of the Head of Biometrics. Takes steps to resolve issues not adequately addressed by project teams. Participates in Client's efforts for continuous improvement of policies, procedures and business processes that allow the company to achieve and maintain a competitive advantage. Provides input regarding training and skills development plans to ensure that Client remains competitive in maintaining highly trained and adaptable staff. Pursues a programme of continuing education. Participates in the review and update of Client SOPs and business processes and ensures operational consistency with defined practices. Fulfils such other assignments as are consistent with the scope of responsibilities of a member of the Biometrics Department. Experience: A minimum of three years experience in a statistician and/or SAS programming role A minimum of two years experience in the use of SAS Previous experience in a pharmaceutical or CRO environment Good knowledge of ICH-GCP Education: A Bachelors or Masters degree with a large component of statistics Aptitudes: Well-developed interpersonal skills. Ability to provide team leadership. Able to foster a team environment and facilitate the building of positive, productive relationships with clients and within the Client. Must be articulate in explanations and able to communicate statistical results and concepts in a clear, positive fashion to clients, management and staff. Good analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities, and demonstrate ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
