Conference - Innovating e-Learning 2006: Transforming Learning Experiences
Apologies for cross posting.
Advance notice of online conference of
interest to practitioners, e-learning coordinators and managers in further and
higher education, researchers, and staff developers.
Innovating e-Learning 2006: Transforming
Learning Experiences, an online conference based around the
work of the e-Learning and Pedagogy and Innovation strands of the JISC
e-Learning Programme will be held on 27
- 31 March 2006.
The five-day conference will be highlight the three
cornerstones of effective practice with e-learning: learning activity design,
learners' experiences of e-learning, and the impact of emerging technologies.
The programme is divided into three themes and a plenary, each with its own
keynote speaker:
27/28 March: Designing for Learning,
introduced by Professor Diana Laurillard, Chair of Learning with Digital
Technologies at the
28/29 March: Learner Experiences of
e-Learning, introduced by John Stone, Principal of Ealing, Hammersmith and
30/31 March: Innovating e-Learning
Practice, introduced by Professor Stephen Heppell, Learn3K Research Centre,
31 March: Plenary
Please note that although the conference extends over 5
days, each theme will run over 2 days. You may wish to select the theme that
most closely matches your interests - it is recommended that you are available
to participate whenever possible on the days you have selected. The
conference will be open the week before 27 March, so that participants can view
presentations and papers, and all discussions will be available for reading only for two weeks after the
official close of the conference.
Open call -Submissions for Innovative
Practice Area
Expressions of interest for submissions that illustrate some
aspect of the above themes are invited from practitioners, action researchers,
researchers, developers, and experts in e-learning working in post-16 colleges
and universities. Selected submissions will be hosted in the Innovative
Practice Area of the conference and will also form the basis of discussions
under each theme.
