Summary:

This seminar offers a non-technical introduction to the METS (“Metadata Encoding and Transmission Standard”) standard for digital library metadata. In addition to introducing the standard itself, the seminar will look at case studies of institutions that have already implemented it, and will take participants through the decisions involved in using METS for their digital library projects. Part of the day will look specifically at the potential of METS for encoding learning objects.
