It also needs to be mentioned that the list is archived on the JISCMail server, potentially for years to come, so everyone's comments are retained for anyone else who joins to read- a big problem we had with the last list was the posting of matters which were potentially libellous about someone who was not a list member, and even if those messages were deleted from the server by the moderators, everyone is sent a copy of each posting to their mailbox, and we obviously couldn't delete those!
