medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture Lovely, Theresa, best set of photos yet! On seeing the placement of the inscriptions -- particularly the large one that runs from side to side --, a question came to mind. The mosaic floor (or what's left of it) of the 3rd CE synagogue on Aegina has an inscription in a format similar to the one at Meggido -- does anyone have any idea when or where this practice started? I suspect the practice is Greek, but????
