Subject: 10th Trans-Tasman CP
Conference April 20-23 2006 Call for submissions
Hi everyone
Please
find attached and below the first call for submissions for the 2006
Trans-Tasman Conference. The submission form is also attached.
We're
getting excited about this first leg in a trifecta of Community Psychology
conferences next year, starting in Sydney, then on to the first International
Conference in Puerto Rico in June, then back to Auckland in September (well, we
can't claim the joint APS/NZPsS conference as our own, but we'll certainly have
a presence there). Make sure you get to one, at least.

Tenth Trans-Tasman Conference in Community
Psychology
Thursday 20th - Sunday 23rd April 2006
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
The APS
College of Community Psychologists is now inviting submissions for the tenth
Trans-Tasman Conference in Community Psychology, to be held in
It is
expected that the program will consist of several streams/themes, including:
· ‘Nothing so practical as …’ – Theoretical
developments influencing community psychology practice
· Working together for deadly outcomes – Community psychology and Indigenous
people
· Journeys with consumers: Recent developments in mental health policy and
practice
· Conversations that cross borders: International agendas in community
psychology
Instead
of the usual one-way delivery format, stream conveners will work with
interested contributors to determine their preferred format - posters,
round-table discussion groups, interactive workshops, creative presentations,
formal symposia ….. While primarily designed for community psychologists,
the conference is expected to attract participants from a range of fields, and
contributions from community members, students and service consumers are
particularly welcome.
Intending
presenters: Please complete the submission form and email or fax by
Friday 9th December 2005 to [log in to unmask] FAX (61) 3 9919
4324 (Note that late submissions will be considered through until Friday
February 3rd 2006, but timely submissions will assist in shaping the structure
and focus of the conference).
Abstracts
should
· be no longer than 200 words
· include a statement of the aims and proposed format of the presentation
· contain sufficient information to enable participants to gauge what they
might gain from attending the presentation
All
submissions will be reviewed by members of the conference organising group. It
is expected that there will be a special refereed Conference Proceedings issue
of Network, the Journal of the APS College of Community Psychologists. If
you are interested in having your contribution considered for inclusion in this
special issue, you will need to submit a paper of no more than five pages, in
full, by Friday February 3rd. Submission details will be published shortly in
Network and on the Conference website which will be in place early in January.
Final acceptance
will be dependent on the Conference registration of all presenters.
Registration details will be available from January 2006.
