Oxford Institute Research Fellowships

ACADEMIC-RELATED RESEARCH STAFF GRADE II: Salary
£27,929 to £36,959 p.a.

5 years, and 3 years, with possibility of extension
for further 2 years.

As part of its Globalisation of Ageing Research
Programme, The Oxford Institute of Ageing, University
of Oxford, is seeking to appoint two Research Fellows
to join the existing research team working on aspects
of ageing in Asia.

Both fellowships will be funded under the new Global
Ageing programme. One Fellowship will be for five
years, the second Fellowship for three years with the
possibility of extension for a further two years.

Candidates should have
a strong and proven research background in 
demography,
economics, sociology or a related subject and specific
research experience in the economics of ageing in
Asia. Experience of working with large datasets and
the statistical analysis of such datasets, as well as
familiarity with SPSS and other statistical related
software is desirable.
Or
a strong and proven research background in 
demography,
economics, sociology, health and social care or a
related subject and specific research experience in
health and social care aspects of ageing in Asia.
Experience of working with either quantitative or
qualitative analytical methods is essential.

Both Research Fellows will be expected to contribute
to the continued development of the Institute™s
research profile on ageing in Asia, one of the
programme™s focus regions, both independently and with
other members of the Institute.

The Institute is a multi-disciplinary Research
Institute based within the Division of Social
Sciences. Current staff are drawn from demography,
sociology, health sciences, psychology, development
studies and anthropology. The Institute addresses
global, societal and individual ageing, with
particular focus on work and economic security,
families and communities, health and social care, and
education. Current regional interests are Europe,
Asia and Africa.
