Hi -- perhaps I can be more useful by asking how Spenser may have influenced
Joyce... I'm struck by various vague correspondences between the Citizen and
his dog Garryowen ("Cyclops," *Ulysses*) and the villain Geryoneo in Bk V of
FQ, for example. Certainly Sp's riverwork surfaces in Joyce? --Tom
