That's a very broad pair of (mostly) unrelated questions. :-) For your first question, Shib is agnostic with respect to any given enterprise SSO solution. Since the local SSO solution sits out in front of the Shib Identity Provider, just about anything can be used. Your portal question is more difficult. Can you be more specific about your requirements? Protecting a portal with a Shib Service Provider is relatively easy (Blackboard provides this capability via an authentication module, for instance). Simultaneously protecting back-end resources accessed via the portal is a much more difficult problem, however. Currently, Shib doesn't address this so you need to talk to your portal vendor (and let me know what you find out! :). Tom
