I have, I think, set up the Friends of Wisdom JISCmail. I have made you a
joint "owner" with me. Before I join the other Friends of Wisdom, I
thought I would send you this test email, to see if you get it, and the system
works. You are a "subscriber" to, and joint "owner" of, the
friendsofwisdom list: I have checked. But in order to become a functional
"owner" you have to get a password. I imagine you have received an email
already, telling you how to do that. If not, go to the jiscmail home page
and follow instructions. If you encounter any difficulties, let me
know. One thing I have to do, apparently, is "configure" the list. I
will try and work out what this involves.
Please email me to let me know that you have received this jiscmail email.
I am sending you an ordinary email in case this one does not arrive. If
you receive the ordinary email, but not this one, let me know that that is what
has happened. As soon as I get confirmation from you that the "list" is up
and running, I will join the other Friends of Wisdom.
Thus begins the campaign to bring about a revolution in the aims and
methods of academic inquiry so that it takes up its proper task of seeking and
promoting wisdom!
