Steve To pick up Eddie and Paul's comments about Teknical's repository product, I have have used it quite extensively and can confirm that it will pick up LOM metadata with no problems and allows quite sophisticated searching. I have imported metadata tagged objects from NLN and "homegrown" using RELOAD without any noticeable loss of data Teknical's learning object authoring tool includes metadata editing for both SCORM and IMS packages. However, the range of entries that you can edit and the vocabularies are constrained by the product. Similarly the repository can display and search only a subset of the whole LOM. In the current JISC X4L Phase 2 Project COLOSSUS we are looking at many of these issues with an eye to depositing objects in the Teknical repository and in the JORUM repository. It might be useful to link up to look at this further, especially as all but one of the COLOSSUS partners are in Scotland.
