September) is the feast day of: Geremarus (d. c. 658) Geremarus (Germer) was a Frankish noble who had a successful secular career and then went off to be a monk, giving all his possessions to his wife. Instead of going to the monastery he had founded, he went to Pentale, where he soon became abbot. Some of the monks didn't like his rigor, though, and harassed G. so much that he went off to be hermit. When his son died, G. used the estate to found another monastery at Flay, where he became abbot. Gerard of Csanad (d. 1046) Gerard was a Venetian who set off on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem but never made it past Hungary. He became tutor to St. Stephen's son Emeric and first bishop of Csanad. He was attacked and killed in the anti-Christian backlash after King Stephen's death. Robert of Knaresborough (blessed) (d. 1218) Robert Flower was the subject of a popular cult, but never formally canonized. He was a native of York who started to become a Cistercian but soon went on to live in a cave near Knaresborough. He won a considerable reputation for holiness. Dalmatius Moner (blessed) (d. 1341) Dalmatius was a Dominican; he is the subject of a vita written only about ten years of his death by a fellow Dominican. D. was a Catalonian who studied at Montpellier and then joined the Order of Preachers. He lived a quiet life with the community at Gerona, serving as novicemaster and practicing a great deal of asceticism. He was known for his habit of talking with angels and was seen to levitate.
