Call for Papers AAG Chicago, 7-11 March 2006 The comparative study of empires This session will examine empires in their historical context and try to stimulate debate about the current imperial moment. It is hoped that papers will explore the strategic, economic and cultural dynamics of empires, both formal and informal. The following have expressed interest in participating and it is hoped that others will join us: Stuart Corbridge, Colin Flint, Derek Gregory, Mike Heffernan, Gerry Kearns, Scott Kirsch, John Morrissey, David Nally, Neil Smith, and Gerard Toal.
