HUMAN FACTORS ENGINEER - NCR DUNDEE

The NCR Design Centre is looking to recruit a human factors engineer to champion the consumer side of self-service product developments for the global marketplace.

The successful applicant will work within the Design, Usability and Accessibility (DU+A) team to contribute to the design and then test and validate the usability and accessibility of NCR's self service product range, following the User Centred Design (UCD) process. Particular focus will be in the areas of walk-up and drive-up self-service terminals primarily from a hardware ergonomics (anthropometric and biomechanical) perspective. The position will typically involve team working with groups such as Industrial Design, Product Management and both Hardware and Software Engineering. The successful applicant will also be expected to support NCR on ATM accessibility standards bodies in the US, Canada, Australia and the UK.

Applicants should be able to work independently to tight deadlines, and be able to communicate their work to others (written reports and verbal presentations). Initiative and a pragmatic approach to the work are considered essential, as is an ability to quickly understand the technologies and organisational demands associated with the work. A working knowledge of the human modelling tool Mannequin(tm) is desirable.

*  Defining user/product requirements
*  User needs analysis
*  Task Analysis
* Knowledge of anthropometric and biomechanical evaluation techniques
*  Experimental design
* Conducting empirical usability evaluations and heuristic/expert reviews
*  Statistical analysis
*  Providing design recommendations
