Qualitative Researcher

A qualitative researcher is needed for a Department of Health funded study
examining the barriers injecting drug users encounter in seeking treatment.
You will join a multi-disciplinary team of social scientists led by
Professor Chris Godfrey and Steve Parrott (University of York) and
Professor Jo Neale (Oxford Brookes University). Responsibilities will
include conducting, analysing and writing up in-depth interviews with drug
users recruited from needle exchange services across West Yorkshire. A good
(first/ upper second) undergraduate degree or a postgraduate degree in a
relevant social science discipline and experience of qualitative research
methods are required. A willingness to meet injectors at hours of their
convenience will make some early morning and evening work necessary.

Salary will be up to £23,643 per annum (on the Grade I salary scale for
research staff). The post is available from October 1st 2005 for a fixed
term of 12 months.
