There a WCS fidelity issue too. Yes, I am under the impression that some of these are bodges put into place to get around Figaro's trouncing of the WCS. I think there are some simpler ways to get the wavelength axis represented correctly with SpecFrames instead of the old way with AXIS structures and all that.
